Google and some other companies have gotten together and laid a trans oceanic fiber-optic cable between Asia and the United States. The ship carrying the cable arrived today.
The project was reported to have cost approximately $110 Million. This will open up communications between the US and Asia like never before! Here is the link: Google Press Center
